Q:  Why don't you sell shoes on line or via catalog?
A:  Shoes are not a "one-size-fits-all" commodity.  Every style, even in the same brand, has its own fit characteristics that may or may not fit an individual's foot correctly.  Anne's Wide Shoes exists to make the process efficient for anyone living in or visiting Arizona.  A customer can come in and try on dozens of styles or various sizes in the same style in one sitting.

Q:  While vacationing in Arizona I bought a pair of shoes that I love!  Can I order another pair and have you ship them out of state?
A:  Yes, as long as the style is still made.  In fact, we won't charge shipping on any shoe purchase over $40.
Q:  Do your shoes cost more because they are wide?
A:  You can expect our prices to always be compatible with department store prices for the same styles in medium widths.  There are some specialty shoe retailers (orthopedic and other wide stores) that can and do charge premium pricing.
Q:  What are your prices?
A:  With over 25 brands there is definitely a broad range.  For women we have current styles ranging from $29.95 to $229.95 with many from $69.95 to $79.95.  For men we have current styles ranging from $59.95 to $239.95 with many from $69.95 to $99.95.  There are also clearance "sale room" styles for men and women that are less.
Q:  Why don't you carry "XY or Z" brand?
A:  Anne's Wide Shoes has added and dropped brands over the years.  The most common reason that we don't carry a particular brand is that we have a similar brand that has a better quality to price ratio or better size ranges.  Many women's brands that we don't carry consider a "D" width as "wide-wide".  Most of the brands we stock consider a "D" with as just a "wide" and our "wide-wide's" are actually "2-E".

If there is a brand that we no longer carry there can be a variety of reasons:  Quality of shoes, poor fitting styles, unjustified price increases, etc.
Q:  Do you make orthotics?
A:  No, but once you have your orthotics or braces provided by a reputable pediatrist we can help you find some wide, stylish shoes that will accommodate them.
Q:  I'm a diabetic and I qualify for a free pair of shoes through Medicare every year.  Does Anne's Wide Shoes handle medicare billing?
A:  No.  Take advantage of your free pair through your pediatrist.  If you are going to purchase any additional shoes (or if you are diabetic but do not qualify for Medicare) definitely come in and see us.  We have many styles and brands that are qualified as "diabetic" and we guarantee that our prices will be considerably lower than any "specialist".

Any establishment accepting Medicare reimbursement has the added burden of properly submitting forms, waiting for payment and is prohibited from charging the government higher prices than their "cash" price.  So they set their "cash" price at the highest allowable Medicare price.  Why pay $120 to $150 for an $80 or $90 pair of shoes?
Q:  I work six days a week.  Why aren't you open on Sundays anymore?
A:  "Remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy.  Six days shalt thou labor and do all they work:  But the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord thy God.  In it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, or thy maidservant, nor they cattle, nor thy stranger that is within they gates."  Exodus 20:8-10.  (See also Exodus 23:12)

To our Jewish and Seventh Day Adventist friends, we know we've got the wrong day.  The validity of one day over the other makes for an interesting study in both theology and history.  We would like to encourage more businesses in America to close on Saturday or Sunday.  Either way, put the Sabbath ahead of profit.
